1,400 km North East of Sydney
• Approximately 9km by 4km in size
• Languages are mainly Paamese, and a combined version of
English and Paamese called "Austronesian"
• Education is based on the French and british curriculums
• Revenue comes from the Copra crop, a Coconut palm product
• Technology is almost non-existant, no roads, no electricity and
very limited telecommunications
• Climate averages 22 in Winter, and the Monsoon season lasts
from November to April
• Government is a Republic of Vanuatu. Independent from France
and the UK since 30 July 1980
